Tigers Face Crucial Royals Series as Playoff Hopes Hang in Balance
The Detroit Tigers (61-66) take on the Kansas City Royals (55-74) at Kauffman Stadium on Friday at 8:10 p.m. ET. Still well within striking distance of a wildcard spot in a weak American League playoff race, AJ Hinch's squad could really use a strong showing against the division's bottom dwellers. Detroit has hit eight home runs over the last 10 games and is slugging .351 with 25 extra-base hits over their last 10 games. The Tigers will call on Troy Melton (7-1) against the Royals and Noah Cameron (7-8).
